Visit to Malta by Deputy Head of the Slovak Mission in Rome, Ms Martina
Balunova, to attend meeting with Foreign Minister Dr T. Borg, for foreign Ambassadors to Malta. During
her visit she also made courtesy visits to President E. Fenech Adami Prime Minister L. Gonzi and Deputy Prime
Minister and Foreign Minister T. Borg.
February
Visit of First State Secretary Mrs Olga Algayerova for a meeting with
Mrs Cecilia Attard Pirotta, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs.
Students from Schools
in Malta were invited to participate in the 15th Edition of Project of Figurative Art,
organised by the National Centre for Culture of Bratislava, the Office of Parliament of the Slovak
Republic and the Association of Citizens In Sport against Drugs. The project was called “Why I am
Happy to be in the World” and the theme of the works had to be oriented against drug dependency.
Students from the Institute of Art and Design submitted works which were sent to Bratislava for
judging.

Ambassador Stanislav Vallo visits Malta to attend at the inaugural
ceremony of new President of Malta Dr George Abela.

Honorary Consul Godwin
E. Bencini was one of the official guests of the Minister of Gozo to attend the opening ceremony of the
national event – Lejliet Lapsi – Notte Gozitana.
The Judging Panel of the Project of Figurative Art Project, “Why I am
Happy to be in the World” informed Honorary Consul G.E. Bencini, that the absolute finalist out of the
works of art submitted by Malta, was David Camilleri of Sliema. The works of the finalists of each
participating country will now be exhibited in the halls of the Parliament of the Slovak Republic, and will
then form part of a mobile exhibition.
The Malta
International Airport authorities organised a tour of Vienna for eight journalists. During their stay in
Vienna a visit to Bratislava, a tour of the City and a sumptuous meal in an excellent Hotel on the outskirts
of Bratislava was organised by Ambassador Vallo with the co-operation of Honorary Consul
Bencini.

Social
Policy Minister John Dalli made an official visit to his counterpart in Bratislava. During this visit
agreement on a number of issues was reached. See the photos that show Minister Dalli signing the Memorandum of

Slovak
Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak makes official visit to Malta and has meetings with Maltese Deputy Prime
Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tonio Borg. He also made courtesy calls on President George
Abela and Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi.
