Ambassador S. Vallo visits Malta to present greetings to President G. Abela, Prime Minister L. Gonzi and Foreign Minister T. Borg.

Honorary Consul Godwin E. Bencini, together with the members of the Consular Corps of Malta present Seasons Greetings to President G. Abela, Prime Minister L. Gonzi and Foreign Minister T. Borg.

Annual reception hosted by Honorary Consul and Mrs G. E. Bencini host a reception at their residence. This has now become an annual occasion. Among the many guests were Ambassador and Mrs S. Vallo, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister T. Borg, President Emeritus and Mrs U. Mifsud Bonnici, foreign ambassadors and mdmbers of the Slovak community in Malta.

The Honorary Consulate and the Friends of Slovakia in Malta Association organise a Fasiangy fancy dress Dinner for members of the Slovak Community in Malta and their children. It was the first time that this enjoyable event was organised.

March

Once again an Easter Egg Painting session was held at the residence of Honorary Consul Godwin E. Bencini.

April

Honorary Consul Godwin E. Bencini will be organising the showing of the film "The Power of Good” in the coming months. This film is the story of how Sir Nicholas Winton saved hundreds of Slovak and Czech children from being sent to death camps by the Nazis. Meetings were held with the British High Commissioner in Malta to try to establish contact with Sir Nicholas, with the aim of inviting him to the showing of the film. Thanks to the British High Commissioner, contact was made with the son of Sir Nicholas. Unfortunately this visit to Malta is not possible due to the failing health of Sir Nicholas.

May

The Honorary Consulate organised a Musical Evening at St James Cavallier, the performers were Slovak residents in Malta and Maltese. A reception followed. All those present commented about the success of the evening.
