2009 Events Fall of Communism Celebration
On the
17th November 2009, the Honorary Consulate of the Slovak Republic and the Honorary Consulate of
the Czech Republic jointly organised an event to mark the 20th Anniversary of the fall of Communism
in Czechoslovakia..
The
event consisted of talks by Dr J. Balent from the Slovak side and by Dr V. Nezval from the Czech side. The
keynote address was given by President Emeritus Dr U. Mifsud Bonnici. The Pardo Hall, very kindly made
available to us for this event by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Tonio Borg, was
packed. Among the guests were President Emeritus Dr E. Fenech Adami and H.E. Mons T. Caputo, besides a
large number of Slovaks and Czechs.
A
