Thank you for visiting the site of the Honorary Consulate of the Slovak Republic in Malta.  I trust that you will find it interesting, and that the information you will find here will serve to give you a taste of this beautiful country, which is at the Cross Roads of Civilisation.

It is a signal honor to be appointed Honorary Consul of Slovakia, and I believe that I am very privileged in this respect.

There are a number of parallels to be drawn between Malta and Slovakia.  Both are small countries, both have a long history of occupation by foreign powers in their past, both are found in the centre – Malta in the centre of the Mediterranean, Slovakia in the centre of Europe, both became members of the European Community at the same intake.  In my opinion all these similarities should serve to bring our two countries closer to each other.

I am committed to strengthening the ties between Malta and Slovakia, both culturally and commercially, and I believe that in the short time since the opening of the Slovak Honorary Consulate in Malta, we have covered a lot of ground.  Of course we still have a very long way to go, but as the saying goes, every long journey starts with a first step, and the first steps have been taken!

Let us now look forward to the furthering of this relationship.
